Formation accompagnateur

SNCB is an accredited training organisation for train conductors. The training organisation provides:

  • basic training;
  • advanced training courses.

Examinations

The training organisation organises examinations in the following instances:

  • at the end of a basic or advanced training course;
  • at the three-year inspection of professional skills;
  • in response to an ad hoc, substantiated request for an inspection of professional competency.

Access to the training courses is guaranteed for the staff of all the rail companies operating throughout the Belgian rail infrastructure.

At the end of the training course, the student is able to respond effectively and safely to professional situations based on:

  • his/her required knowledge of the regulations;
  • his/her required line and rolling stock knowledge;
  • specific skills.

A professional situation is an integral set of tasks to be completed, of rules to be observed and of decisions to be taken.

Training journeys are based on:

  • task-oriented training using professional situations;
  • a gradual build-up in complexity taught over different stages;
  • integrating theory and practice.

At the end of the training course, the candidate takes the certification test. If successful in passing this test, the candidate is awarded his/her certificate.
