Forgotten flemish Master comes home

A world-class painter whose work is being exhibited in the largest museums: that is Adriaen Brouwer. His works will soon come to Oudenaarde from renowned private and public collections in Europe and America alike.

For the first time, about half of his 70 works are being brought together. That this event can take place in Brouwer’s birthplace is the cherry on the cake! Brouwer was already known during his lifetime and his works were in demand. Even the greatest, such as Rubens and Rembrandt, owned works of his. Brouwer is an expert at painting emotions, moods and sublime landscapes.

Brouwer’s oeuvre is also compared to that of his contemporaries and followers, including Frans Hals, David Teniers, Joos van Craesbeeck and others.

It will be a unique experience in Oudenaarde. And you could be there!

Free for children under 12.
