How does it work? It's very simple:
  1. Book your accommodation with one of the participating lodgings. You can book your accomodation online or dirrectly with one of the participating lodgings.
  2. No earlier than 1 month before your first night away, you will receive from your hotel an e-mail containing one SNCB order code per person.
  3. You can use these codes to order your Happy Trip tickets quickly and easily at sncb.be.

All you need to know about travelling with a Happy Trip ticket

You will find the list of all participating accommodations offering the possibility to travel with a Happy Trip ticket on the Visit West Flanders website or book your stay directly in the online booking module

If you have booked via the online booking module, you will receive the discount codes for a Happy Trip ticket by e-mail at the earliest 1 month before your trip.

If you booked your stay directly with a participating accommodation, explicitly ask for your discount codes.
Buy your Happy Trip ticket from this page. Simply click on the purchase button displayed top right. The only thing you then need, is the SNCB order code, which you will find in the email from your hotel. Each passenger will need 1 Happy Trip ticket and therefore 1 order code. The code always starts with a zero, the capital letter i and the letters HT. Each code can only be used once. You can print your Happy Trip ticket or save the PDF on your smartphone.
No earlier than 1 month before your first night away, you will receive an e-mail from your accommodation containing one SNCB order code per guest. If you book your accommodation less than a month before your first night away, the e-mail with the codes will follow shortly after the booking confirmation.     E-train tickets from SNCB cannot be exchanged, cancelled or refunded. Please use a different train ticket to travel to your hotel.
Children up to the age of 12 travel free by train, if accompanied by a passenger with a valid ticket over the age of 12. Passengers aged 12 and over can travel with a Happy Trip ticket.
Choose your destination station based on the location of your accommodation. The current offer includes the following stations: De Panne, Veurne, Diksmuide, Koksijde, Oostende, Blankenberge, Zeebrugge-Dorp, Zeebrugge-Strand, Heist, Duinbergen, Knokke, Brugge, Brugge-Sint-Pieters, Kortrijk, Poperinge, Ieper or Roeselare. Get in touch with your accommodation if you have any doubts about the nearest station.
SNCB electronic train tickets are always non-transferable, you cannot therefore either transfer or re-sell them to other people. The tickets cannot be exchanged, cancelled or refunded.

Your Happy Trip ticket is valid for a return journey between your departure and destination station, on the dates that you have chosen. This information is indicated on your ticket. You are free to choose the times of the train to suit you on these dates and on this journey.

No, unfortunately not. The Happy Trip ticket is a discounted ticket and therefore only exists as 2nd class. If you would still prefer more comfort during your journey, please select an upgrade for some or all of your journey. This supplement can be purchased via this website and in the stations at the ticket counters and from ticket machines.

No. Your Happy Trip ticket is only valid for your return rail journey. If you need to catch a De Lijn bus or tram after your rail journey to get to your final destination, you will need to purchase a separate ticket for this leg of your journey.

No. If you depart from Brussels Airport - Zaventem station, the Brussels Airport Supplement is automatically added to the price of the Happy Trip Ticket, both for the outbound as for the inbound journey. 
The Happy Trip fare option is a special offer provided by participating hotels exclusively to hotel guests, who live in Belgium. Foreign hotel guests can unfortunately not take advantage of this price option.
