For employees
What's more, your employer has the obligation to participate in their employees' home-to-work journeys!
How about travelling to work for free?
Did you know that your employer is legally obliged to pay part or all of the cost of your 2nd class season ticket?
For public sector employees, the cost is generally fully covered. Are you employed in the private sector? Since1 February 2026, the statutory employer contribution for home-to-work season tickets has been set at 70,48 % on average. After reimbursement by your employer, you will therefore only pay 29,52% of the price of your season ticket (Standard, Flex of Half Time in 2nd class).
Even better: if your employer has subscribed to a Mobility Pack, you can travel home to work by train completely free of charge. Contact your employer for more information!
