Frequently Asked Questions

  • Off-peak hours: boarding Monday to Friday from midnight to 6 a.m., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 6 p.m. to midnight
  • Peak hours: boarding departing Monday to Friday from 6.01am to 8.59am, and from 4.01pm to 5.59pm.
  • Weekends (Saturday and Sunday): all-day boarding.
  • Public holidays: all-day boarding.

If your journey is constituted of several connecting trains, it is the first leg of your journey that determines whether the “Off-peak” or “Anytime” fare applies.

Every 2nd class ticket (single journey) has a minimum price of €2.60, with or without Train+. The maximum price of a ticket is determined by the number of kilometres travelled. However, if you have Train+, you always pay a maximum price of just €14 per journey.
No. The weekend tariff applies on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Friday evenings are no longer included in the weekend tariff. On the other hand, it is not a compulsory return ticket, but single tickets. And if you have Train+, you can also travel on Friday evenings after 6 p.m. at a reduced rate (off-peak hours).
Tickets and Multi that have already been purchased remain valid on the day for which they were purchased (tickets) or until their expiry date (Multi).

There is no clear-cut answer to this question, as Multi tickets are used in different ways. Here are the most common uses and the alternatives:

  • Standard Multi, where several people travel together: the best solution for this is the Mini-group Ticket or the use of Train+. For 4 or more people, or with Train+, you travel with a 40% discount outside peak hours. When using Train+, you also benefit from the maximum price.
  • Multi for frequent travel on the same route. For this type of travel, the Flex Season Ticket was created a few years ago, allowing you to travel the same route 6 or 10 days within a month for a more attractive price than a ticket.
  • Multi, where you travel the same route less frequently (approximately), for example once a week or every two weeks. Tickets are available for this. In combination with the annual version of Train+, you can also travel more cheaply outside peak hours. For longer distances, you also benefit from the maximum price.
  • Multi, which is used for a variety of destinations spread throughout the year. Tickets are also the best alternative for this, whether or not in combination with the (annual) Train+.

The minimum price for a train journey is €2.6 (rounded) in second class, whether you have Train+ or not.
The benefits and discounts linked to Train+ may evolve throughout the validity of your Train+. The conditions applicable are those in effect at the time of travel.
